Just to keep you reading.

So, we´re driving along in the bus beween Zamora and Loja. It´s a freaking gorgeous ride, from the lowlands through the mountains to Loja. Winding back and forth on the side of a narrow gorge. Seriously spetacular.

And, like usual, we stop at some little house on the side of the road to pick up Granny. Except this time, in addition to the dogs and chickens and livestock that run around every Ecuadorian yard, I got a little Easter surprise.

First, a bright orange chick ran by the door of the bus. It didn´t look too unnatural. But following it, in rapid succession, was a blue chick, a red chick, a yellow chick, and a bright pink chick.

Given that they don´t celebrate Easter like Americans do, I have no idea how to explain this.

And how do you dye an entire, partially-grown chick pink, anyway??

(Did I mention that I´m headed to the GALAPAGOS tomorrow?!)
